“I am writing to say a huge thank you to you, your pupils and staff for a wonderful afternoon yesterday. I felt privileged to attend “Mary Rose does the Musicals”. I could not believe what had been achieved in such a short space of time …. I myself could not stop talking about the show!...” grandparent July 2009
We had great fun producing our performance this year. As usual it was all put together as part of our Activities Week. Each group or class developed their own piece and then these were ‘joined’ up to become a stunning, exciting and top quality show.
Each class or group of classes chose their own musical to focus on. These ranged from Mary Poppins to Singing in the Rain, from Jungle Book to Oliver, from Starlight Express to Dirty Dancing – and many more. There were many highlights, perhaps one of the most memorable was seeing Joseph in his technicolor dreamcoat, the chimney sweeps (Turtles) and their dancing and gymnastics and of course the finales for both the primary and secondary sections when we sang and danced to “We’re all in this Together” and “Greased Lightning”.
The show was lively and colourful and every pupil in the school took part – so did all of the staff and some were in as many as 4 different musicals – well we always say how flexible and adaptable we are! Occasions like this make us all very proud of our school and give us the opportunity to show our parents and friends just what our pupils are capable of. Brilliant!
