Secondary Carol Concert

Sunday, December 17th 2006

A Mary Rose School first. Staff and pupils from the secondary areas of the school got together for a Christmas celebration with parents and friends on Friday December 15th. This was quite a challenge as we had never met together in such numbers before. About 85 pupils and at least 70 visitors joined together to sing carols and listen to Christmas poems and mini plays. Every pupil was involved and some ventured into a large scale gathering like this for the first time. It was a really emotional occasion for many of us who have been working so hard to join up the two schools. Thank you to the staff who were the people who really made this happen.

The pupils had a really good time. Not only did they enjoy performing but they also spent break and lunchtime together. Great fun was had on the playground and then we all ate together in the hall for lunch. At about 1.30 pm we had to entice the pupils from the north site away so that they could catch their buses back in time to go home. This is just the beginning and I know our performances will go from strength to strength.
