Were In!!!!!!

Monday, February 19th 2007

On Monday February 19th, 70 staff arrived at Mary Rose North and South with their sleeves rolled up, ready for action. Within 7 hours all the classroom were packed up into boxes and everything was being loaded onto the removals lorries.

Staff spent the next 4 days unpacking the 500 boxes and zillions of crates. Each day we met together to discuss important whole school issues such as Health and Safety, Fire Drills, curriculum planning. Each day we also had lunch together and got to know each other really well.

The move was not only exciting and satisfying, it was a great team building exercise. Everyone helped each other and when the teams finished their classrooms they moved onto the library, the dining hall and the main school hall. Some staff became well known for their skill in pushing trolley loads of rubbish to the skip (thanks Annie), others helped sort out the ICT and set up a symbols factory (Ruth and Louise).

On the last day – Friday, Eden Catering cooked lunch for us and we all sat down together. This was really good and the catering staff achieved miracles on their first run through with their equipment – even coping with the gas being cut off at one point!

The school is looking great and we look forward to welcoming all our pupils bright and early on February 26th.
