The keystage 4 Sport and Leisure Group invited Alison to go along on their boat trip on the River Hamble. This excursion formed part of their regular keystage 4 options and also linked to The Gateway Award, which in some ways is comparable to the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
The group regularly visits the Hamble Outdoor Centre and participates in a wide range of adventurous outdoor activities ranging from archery, climbing/abseiling, boating, using the zip wire and lots more. On this particular trip the pupils all experienced getting on and off the boat, steering the boat (quite creatively in some cases) and observing the amazing range of sea birds. They all wore their life jackets and learnt about water safety. A fantastic experience for us all.
