The whole school took part in our Eid celebration this year. We held an assembly where pupils found out more about the festival and it’s meaning and some of the classes displayed the work they had been doing in their RE lessons. This included greetings cards, prayer mats, decorations and project work.
The multi sensory assembly included music and dancing and finished with everyone tasting and smelling the range of foods, herbs and traditional ingredients brought in for them to try. Lamb Biriani, rice, naan bread, curry paste and coriander were just a few of the foods/herbs that were sampled.
At Mary Rose School we enjoy finding out about a wide range of different cultures to broaden our understanding and to share special times with pupils and families from a range of different backgrounds.
