Happy New Year!

Friday, January 4th 2008

What a great start to our new term. We discovered a whole new meaning to the concept of the ‘pantomime’.

Staff decided to entertain the pupils on our first Friday back, by putting on our very own Mary Rose ‘X’ factor show. Hosting the show were PANTS AND SPECS, a lively pair of elves with a wicked sense of humour. Judging the contestants were Father Christmas, Mother Christmas and Rudolph the Reindeer. Rudolph came armed with a water spray, chocolate decorations and custard pies, causing mayhem!

The 3 fabulous acts were: The Reindeer, the Snowmen and the Wise men who performed a variety of songs and dances to Agadoo, Amarillo and something else that was very difficult to define! At the end there was a special performance by a troup of angels in Wellingtons who led the cast in YMCA. The winners were the reindeer, selected by the audience.

We had a great time, the children enjoyed seeing the staff looking very silly and the staff just had fun!

We followed the performance with a whole school celebration lunch. We set up tables in the hall and dining room and all managed to sit down together for our special meal. All this more than made up for the school having to close early at the end of the autumn term.
