Juma provided us all with an exciting and lively presentation which introduced our pupils/students to the spirit and joy of steel drums. To start us off they played a range of tunes to the whole school and within minutes everyone was up and dancing. Fantastic! Following their performance they ran workshops which enabled pupils to have hands on experience of the steel drums and the drum kit.
As you can see from the photographs the whole event went down really well and we were delighted to see pupils responding to the music in ways we never thought were possible. We also identified some individual pupils who have natural drumming talent and we’ll be encouraging them to develop their skills further. Maybe we’ll start our own band some day….
