On Wednesday 1st October a group of our students attended a training session at City of Portsmouth Girls School to become Student Associate Governors or SAMs. They were Jade, Regan and Guy and they were accompanied by Alan Oliver, one of our parent Governors.
During the morning they took part in training activities to explain the role of Governors and how they help the school. As all of our SAMs are part of Mary Rose Shout (Our School Council) they were able to offer ideas about how student voice can make a real difference and improve school for everyone.
At the end of the training they were presented with their SAMs folders to keep all of their important paperwork in. They will be attending the Pupil Welfare Governors Sub Committee on the 15th of October to tell Governors about their training.
