We were delighted to welcome Elorm and Jocelyn, teachers from New Horizon School on September 29th. They were in England as part of a British Council Sponsored visit to learn about education in the UK.
Elorm and Jocelyn toured the school and enjoyed seeing all our classes involved in their learning. We then arrange a whole school assembly when we sang, danced and showed them photographs of all the things we do at Mary Rose School. We had a great time when Elorm and Jocelyn led us in some African drumming, a fantastic experience.
We gave them a Mary Rose School bag each filled with goodies to take back with them -this included some school uniform – Jocelyn was quick to try on her Mary Rose school polo shirt! Madam Francois, the principle of New Horizon School sent us a batik tablecloth and napkins that had been made by students from the adult workshop. The design use symbolised authority which really impressed Alison!
We are supporting the school again this year as part of our harvest offering. Our turn to visit them next…..
