How many of you woke up on the morning of Saturday Dec 13th listening to the sound of the raging storm, glad to be tucked up in bed? Lots of you I’m sure. Some of us at Mary Rose just assumed that there was no way the MAG run bikers would be riding to our school to deliver presents and good cheer. We were so wrong….. Dave the leader was out having his hair cut when we phoned to check if it was still on – it was important that he was looking his best! “Cancel it? No way, we’re real bikers, a little wind and rain won’t put us off.”
True to form nearly 50+ bikers rode up to school at 1.30pm dressed in Santa suits and looking a little damp! There to welcome them were numbers of pupils and their families as well as staff, such excitement. Hot drinks and mince pies were welcomed by all. Loads of Christmas presents were put round the tree and the whip-round raised about £270 for the school.
Thank you once again to the Mary Rose Charity Riders for bringing good cheer to Mary Rose School yet again. Merry Christmas!
