By now you will have heard that we are not going to be in our new building for September. We are obviously disappointed but I am pleased that the LEA has decided not to compromise on the high quality specification that we need for our school. They are also giving full support to ensure that we can give our pupils a really good start to the year.
I am already working with my team to make sure that detailed plans are in place for September on the two sites. All the pupils will remain in their familiar surroundings with many of the staff who they and you know well. Staff will be preparing them for this change of plan.
During the time leading up to the move we will be working on joint projects across the two schools, giving opportunities for pupils and staff from the 2 sites to work together. In this way the pupils will know each other and all the staff much better than they would have if we had moved over in September. We will also continue to develop the transition plans for the pupils and organise visits to the new school before we move I will send you out full details of our plan for September, including class and staffing lists shortly.
I am currently in the process of appointing a business manager who will also manage the premises. The business manager is due to start by the end of June. This person will be able to focus on ensuring that progress on the build is well monitored, giving me more time to spend in the 2 schools. I assure you that at all times the education and well-being of the pupils will be my first priority.
Full details to follow soon.
