The Council of Portsmouth Students (C.O.P.S) is a group of students from each secondary school that meet up once or twice a term. It is a great opportunity for students from special schools (as well as mainstream schools) but especially students from the Mary Rose School, to be involved in making decisions that influence either them or their school.
As representatives of the school we report back after each meeting to ALL of the students using paper minutes and DVD minutes from the meeting and also through our new school council.
"I really enjoy being part on the C.O.P.S group because to me it is such a huge responsibility to get back to the school on what happened and to also make my voice heard in issues that not only concern me but concern other schools as well as our school too, and I hope that once I have left for college that Mary Rose school continues to advance in Student Voice and keeps making their voice is heard. " Michael (Spinnaker Class)
EVERY student and child HAS a voice so we all need to ALL listen and make sure it’s heard!!!
The C.O.P.S. representatives from Mary Rose School are Amy (Spinnaker), Guy (Sixth Form) and Michael (Spinnaker).
